Canva Reviews: 70 Users Comment

Canva was founded in 2012 and has since turned into a juggernaut in the graphic design space with over 20 million monthly active users and a 2020 valuation of around $6 billion. To help you decide if it’s worth signing up to and perhaps paying for, we put out this query:

Would like to hear from people who have tried Canva (and especially people who have paid for it) on if it was worth it for you, and if there’s a better alternative you can recommend. All comments welcome.

Of the over 100 responses to that from Canva users, the below are the best ones. To summarize, the feedback on Canva has been overwhelmingly positive and the vast majority of comments people have sent us have recommended it. Numerous people have used Canva for all their graphic design needs and praise Canva for its large range of templates, ease-of-use and great value (and you may not even need to get a paid plan), and the criticisms of Canva are few and far between. It’s in fact quite rare for us to publish user reviews on any product or service that are this unanimously positive — we have not held back on publishing anything negative. Therefore, we can definitely feel comfortable recommending Canva.

My team and I love Canva! We use it all the time for making our social media graphics, mockups, certificates for students who complete my proofreading courses, and a variety of other things. The paid membership is SO worth it because of the access you get to all the premium templates and of course the unlimited storage.

Canva is an excellent tool for people who may not have the money to purchase an expensive software such as Photoshop, but who also may not have the abilities to use such a complex software. Canva is easy to use and allows you to create all sorts of designs for a whole host of platforms. As a blogger, I've used it many times to create pins for individual blog posts, resize images and create banners/headers for my blog posts. I wouldn't know where to start in Photoshop so Canva is the best alternative for me. I especially like the relatively new feature that allows you to publish an image straight to Pinterest without having to exit the page.

I have had a paid Canva account for around 6 months now. As someone who runs several websites but has absolutely no design skill Canva is a life saver. It is by far the best tool for taking a very ordinary looking stock image and turning into a brilliant eye catching piece of branded content use any of their superb templates.

Specifically I use it to create pins on Pinterest that get far more engagement than they otherwise would. I've actually tested different pin styles and Pins designed with canva using their Pinterest pin templates get much more engagement than the low effort images I was putting on there in the past.

For any small website or business that has a small design budget then Canva is the perfect solution which I highly recommend!

Canva is totally great for websites and blogs. With more blogs getting tons of traffic from Pinterest, Canva has become a must.

However, the difference between paying for canva and using the free version is relatively small.

You can have the same measure of success without actually paying for it.

I'm a vegan food blogger and I use the free version Canva multiple times a week. Mainly, I use Canva to create pins for Pinterest, but I have also used it to create banners for my website, Facebook posts, and my logo. I find the free version of Canva to be perfectly sufficient for creating Pinterest pins. It's intuitive, easy to use, and the results look great! I would consider upgrading to the paid version if I had a little more money in my budget in order to improve the image quality on my website banner and logo. There are a few other features of the paid version I'm interested in trying out, including resizing and removing an image from its background. So while I am happy with the free version, I've also considered doing the trial to upgrade. Overall, I think Canva is great, and I highly recommend it to bloggers and other people who need to do design work, but don't have experience with more complicated graphic design platforms.

All the graphics on my website are designed entirely using Canva. It's great for website owners who have limited design skills and cannot afford to hire professional graphic designers.

I didn't use the premium section of Canva quite often because I usually combine it with other free-royalty images, but sometimes I purchase the $1 Canva icons if I really want to use them.

Canva is very user-friendly and definitely worth using, but I would recommend LunaPic for higher design capabilities while still keeping costs low..

Canva has become popular for a good reason – it is rich in features and really easy to use. I’ve used Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel DRAW, and even many online graphic editors in the past.

The one thing about Canva that I immediately loved was the versatile range of templates and tools that you are offered. Setting up a cover photo for a Facebook page, designing an eye-catching flyer, or creating a great logo – these are all things that Canva offers.

The paid version of Canva adds some essential features for me – I am able to download a PNG with a transparent background, and I have access to a much wider range of stock art and photos to use in my projects.

The only downside I have had with Canva is the fact that adjusting colors for some of the stock artwork can be limited in some cases.

Bottom Line: Canva is great for designing eye-catching graphics quickly, and it is a relatively affordable option with built-in cloud functions.

If you take a look at my site, you'll see that Canva is literally all I use for graphic design. I started out using a free account for about two years. Then one day I got offered a free trial of their Premium service -- and I was hooked!

I've been a paying user for almost a year now and I love it! The image resolution is so much higher as a paying user. You also gain unlimited access to all their stock images, elements, and illustrations. Finally, you can animate any image and reproduce any template in any size you choose -- at the click of a mouse!

As someone with zero graphic design knowledge (and with neither the desire nor time to learn), Canva is perfect for me. I've never considered an alternative because I think the price point is just fine for the range of options I need and receive.

I use Canva to create marketing resources for my coaching business and I love it. It’s such an easy site to navigate and the integrated stock photo tool makes creating high quality resources really efficient. Most of us know that Canva has been around us for many years now. I have been using it since 2017. It offers a great user experience along with a plethora of templates to use. Personally, I have used other tools like adobe, Pixabay, etc. for pics and designs. But the flexibility and efficiency that Canva brings is incomparable with any. Also, I get to do my own designs free of cost when the subscription gets over, thus, making it the best design tool out there in the market.

Using Canva, I have explored a plenty of things such as designing infographs, social media posts, featured images, etc. within a short time.

I have used the platform continuously over the last five years, both professionally and personally to create past CVs and even decor for parties! In my former full-time role it was a fundamental part of how we delivered our digital marketing, acting as the sole design software for our branded proposals, social media imagery, sales collateral and all bespoke projects. The paid features were a huge asset including an image bank, resizing tool and transparent PNG option.

Now I’m freelance I haven’t yet upgraded to the paid version and I definitely miss it! I also use it with many of my clients who have their own accounts which allows me to access their branded templates for which I can add my copy into including e-books and social media posts. I’ve also recently discovered the new video and GIF option which has been fantastic for creating a range of Facebook ads for one of my clients. Whilst I’m familiar with Adobe’s suite of software, I tend to prefer using Canva as it makes the initial template process much quicker and easier - something that is particularly important when time is limited and consistency is key.

I use Canva for nearly all of my graphic design elements for my blog and social media channels. I format my branded memes, quotes, Pinterest images & more exclusively on Canva and love the platform for its breadth of options, easy of use, & overall convenience. I appreciate that all of my past designs are so easily accessible, and if I have a design that did particularly well I can duplicate it & make some minor tweaks with just a couple of quicks.

The drag-and-drop aspect just makes designing so simple. I also love the ease of being able to access all of my work on any computer at any time. Canva is a simple to use platform while offering an array of design elements, which is a win-win.

As a team with a lot of design work, we honestly love Canva. Canva offers an extensive collection of templates, elements, and fonts that can help us make our designs look good in a very efficient way. The templates are excellent sources for inspiration. The whole website is very user-friendly. Although the earlier versions back in 2017 might not be so friendly to newcomers, the UI improved a lot these years.

We started with the free plan for only a small portion of our design work on Canva, and gradually transferred most of our design work on Canva. The pro plan $12.95 is affordable and brings a lot of value to SMEs. Therefore, I do recommend Canva to SMEs.

I use Canva weekly and have been doing so for a few years. I utilize it to make pins for Pinterest as well as other graphics for my websites.

It is a great program. It's easy to use and has a decent amount of functionality - light photo editing, lots of fonts, sizes, colors and effects.

You can use it for many different kinds of projects. I've used it for workbooks, checklists, infographics, pins and more.

It's especially great for beginners who don't have a lot of graphic design experience as they have templates to help get you started. And it's an easy drag and drop editor.

I have been using Canva, the paid version, for over a year now. I find it to be incredibly easy to use with tons of templates available. I can almost always find an existing template that matches what I need and the library of images available is incredible. I was not sure about it at first but now I have my whole team using it. At first we were just looking for a way to make Job Ads that stood out but as we use it more and more we find more and more uses for it. Most of our Social Media posts are now being created with Canva.

--David Morley, Rockstar Mechanics

PERMALINK: https://outwittrade.com/canva-reviews#david

I have been using Canva for quite a while now, it is super simple to use. I'm not a professional designer but having small websites requires you to have a bit of knowledge on the kind of software that at least allows you to crop images.

Canva not only provides a bunch of tools and functionality, they provide inspiration, and for me that's the most important. Before, choosing colors, typography , pictures, etc , took a ridiculous amount of time, and satisfaction wasn't always guaranteed. Now with Canva, I can quickly browse their templates and pick the design that fits my requirements. They have a bunch of free templates, most of the time those work just fine, but there have been situations in which I really like a Pro picture or template, in such cases I pay a Pro plan for a month.

Canva really allows the common folk to come up with amazing designs, before only professionals were able to stand out with their skills, now Canva allows people to just pick, drag and drop and come up with quality stuff.

I have been using Canva since I started blogging two years ago and I still use it. As a blogger, I always use the banners from Canva since it is so easy to and time-saving when you have premade high-quality designs. The best thing is it's very easy to use there is nothing too complex like I never worry about the size because I can select any social media site whether its Instagram, Facebook or any other social media you can just select it and you get your designs specially made for the same platform and they add new designs so that's a pretty great thing.

Honestly, I don't think any other alternative is needed. I am so much happy with Canva.

Considering we're a small startup launched a year ago on a shoestring budget, at sumizeit.com, we use Canva instead of hiring high priced designers. It has been very useful for us. We've used it to create our Facebook ad campaign designs, which have doubled our revenue. We also use Canva to create stunning content that communicates on a profound level with our followers on Instagram. All of the books covers on our website were created using Canva.

Canva has been a lifesaver. The service is easy to use and requires very little design knowledge. What we like most about it are the templates that make it straightforward to create stunning designs. They are design-ready and there are a plethora of template designs to choose from. If you think of it, Canva probably has it.

I've used Canva for a dozen or so projects and I absolutely love it.

Full disclaimer...it's NOT Adobe Photoshop. But, for a free tool, it's fantastic, and will get most jobs done for you in a jiffy. I've used Canva to design infographics, birthday party invitations, business cards, and more.

What Canva lacks in control it makes up for in templates. I don't know about you, but I am NOT a professional designer. Sometimes I don't know where to start, and that's where templates come in. Canva has hundreds of templates that can be used right out of the box. Or, you can tweak and turn them any way you'd like, to make them fit your personality.

The paid memberships include full access to their design database, which includes fonts, images, elements, animations, and more. I haven't made the jump to the Pro plan simply because the free version is so powerful.

I usually pay-as-I-go and buy fonts or images as I need them. This saves me money, but only because I don't use Canva in an enterprise setting. I only have one or two projects a month. If I was a business looking for more regular design, I'd definitely jump on the Pro membership.

I have, however, paid for Canva printing. Let me emphasize. Canva printing is insanely inexpensive. I quoted them against my local print shop, Office Depot, you name it, and Canva came out as low as 50% cheaper. With multiple paper options and rush delivery, I love printing on Canva and seriously recommend it.

We operate a DJ Tech & Event management company and traditionally have been loyal users of Photoshop. However, over the last two years we have found Canva to be our 'go-to' piece of design software when it comes to building social media assets. At first, we were a little tentative about using a new design platform but Canva won us over as it allows us to build high quality assets at incredible speed. Unlike Adobe platforms Canva does not require a huge amount of design experience and the in-built templates are perfect for assets required for use over multiple social media platforms. Canva also allows us to effortlessly share the design assets between departments which saves valuable time and resources. We have always used the paid version as this opens up more options and the pricing is very reasonable indeed so absolutely worth it. Definitely a new design platform in town!

Canva is a great tool for small businesses on a budget to create decent social media graphics. The intuitive platform and plethora of templates can help the amateur come up with something pretty good. That being said, when it comes to creating a unique and consistent look and feel for your brand, Canva falls short of programs like Adobe Illustrator. The cohesiveness of your social feed is a big factor when it comes to making someone hit follow or not. Its a part of building that trust in your brand and your product. Canva wins when it comes to minimizing the learning curve, but it can't beat Illustrator as a graphics tool.

I use the free version of Canva and have mixed feelings about it. My general use is to make Pins for Pinterest and PDFs to provide to my audience with helpful advice that can be printed.

The platform is quite powerful and you can do a lot with shapes, overlays, templates, and even apply color gradients. With the paid version, you can set up a brand page with your brand colors and other helpful information that is then saved.

While easy to use, if you're not good at basic design, your results can be flat. Even using many of the templates other bloggers provide for sale, I find that my results are not as well done. When you modify the templates for your branding, a lot of the styling and design disappears.

For example, my colors are blue and teal, but if the template was designed as pink and green, it just doesn't work quite right once I change the fonts and colors.

I've found RelayThat to be a much better option for social media needs, such as Pinterest pins and Facebook posts. I just add text, change a font, pick the design I like and I'm done.

I have been using Canva for a few years now and recently upgraded to the pro version. I love it. There is no better deal for the kind of stock images, video and graphics that it gives you access to. Canva is perfect for making quick, professional looking social media graphics. There are so many great templates to choose or get design inspiration from. You can even set up style guides and project folders.

I love that there is a phone app version that gives me quick access to my designs on my phone for easy posting to social media.

I use Canva extensively in my work as an online business manager and graphic designer. I use it much more extensively now in my own branding and graphics, but have used it for about a year in my former role as a social media manager.

I think Canva is incredibly robust, particularly when using the paid version. It has an easy user interface (my tween uses it to create stories for IG) and has so many great templates and design options to choose from.

They offer tutorials and tips for users who are new to design. Their color palette picker is also a REALLY fun tool. I’ve used it when creating branding boards for clients.

Most people can get away with the free version but I use the paid version and particularly enjoy perks like being able to download graphics with a transparent background (great for logos), removing backgrounds, and the branding kit. When managing multiple client accounts it’s nice to be able to have brand colors and fonts all in one place.

I’ve tried a few others but really like this one. The only issue with any of these programs is that while they do have tons of templates for people not great at design, people will often use the newest trending ones and that results in a lot of people having similar looking designs.

What’s really awful is when people (with no understanding of design) DON’T use the templates and their work looks terrible. Not everyone who can DIY SHOULD DIY.

This year our music venues chose to build out a marketing team in-house. We all utilize Canva; especially when you need a quick, clean graphic to fill out your social calendar or animation effects to engage audiences. I live constantly in the Adobe suite (AfterEffects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro), as well as utilizing Procreate on my iPad, and can fully say Canva is a great alternative to jazz-up any social feed simply and quickly. It's a nice tool to have on your phone if something big happens in the music industry (breaking news, deaths, surprises releases, pop-up concerts) that we have to report on on-the-fly.

A lot of times I'll pull in elements built out in Photoshop as PNGs and layer them using Canva to animate the text or add motion to graphics, or use licensed music to grab audience attention for a show announcement. Being able to resize the graphics created in Canva takes the extended work out of building out each one individually for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.

I've found that if you don't have access to any real creative/ editing software like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, Canva can be an okay substitute. It's great if you're a small business that is just looking to create a quick graphic for any reason and you don't want to have to pay for it. Whether it's a temporary logo, a quick banner or even just a leaflet, I would say that you don't want to use Canva for any serious branding or advertisements, but if you're in desperate need of a quick graphic, it's not a bad choice.

I love Canva as it allows me to develop any design that comes to my mind. I’ve already created tons of blog post teasers, social media posts, infographics, and one ebook with the help of this graphic design platform. One thing I like the most about Canva is the variety of elements that you can add to your designs – you can find literally any icon there.

Moreover, compared with other graphic design tools, Canva has a faster load speed (which is important, especially when you have a large project). In my opinion, the tool is definitely worth every cent spent.

I am on my third year using Canva as a paid subscription. It is $12.95 per month that allows me to quickly design digital graphics for newsletters, social media, video thumbnails, presentations, and more.

There is a learning curve when starting designs from scratch but the thousands of templates assist in the process. It is a graphic design for non-designers. However, the more experience you have in graphic design the more creative you can be.

Overall for the money, it gives me what I need.

--Jake Clements, Whiskey Jake

PERMALINK: https://outwittrade.com/canva-reviews#jake

For the past year, I have used Canva exclusively to design Facebook covers, Pinterest graphics, ads, and mark up images that I post on my blog. I’ve also designed a few posters and an infographic or two.

In the past, I extensively used Adobe InDesign for laying out text and images for web and print. But since discovering Canva, I cancelled my expensive subscription ($35 per month) to Adobe Creative Cloud. I miss Photoshop sometimes, but Canva and native apps on my Mac like Preview cover most of what I’m trying to do.

I used to edit two high quality print publications, and for that type of output, I’d probably choose Adobe Creative over Canva. For the relatively low image resolution and formats needed on the web, though, you really can’t beat Canva.

Canva has an exhaustive number of templates that that cover just about everything with hundreds of pre-made designs that you can adapt. I paid for the Pro version ($9.95 per month) for a few months but I cancelled it because the free version does 90% of what I’m trying to accomplish. The paid version gives you access to a lot of stock photos, more fonts, more choices of image sizes, etc., but I just wasn’t using them.

Many of the additional elements (lines, shapes, backgrounds, images) are free, but some cost a few dollars. The good news is that you can use the element over and over again after you pay for it. For me, it’s still cheaper to pay for them piecemeal as needed than pay $9.95 every month to get them for free.

For my blog, the free version is plenty. I create most of my own images and its seamless to upload everything I need to Canva. I’ve found that you have to be careful not to overwrite the graphics you create. You have to copy a graphic first if you want to preserve changes of the old version. There is no “Save as” or renaming feature that I can see.

You can also make videos with Canva and they have quite a few free video clips. Most of the music, though, is $3 per track or free with the Pro version. I haven’t tried this yet.

--Kim Stone, SmartWalletInfo.com

Back when I first launched my website, I was doing much of the work all by myself. That includes content creation and graphics. While I had a writing background, I had no idea how to instruct graphics beyond terrible stick figures.

Quite honestly, Canva saved my life. If there's an app that can teach me, out of all people, how to make decent graphics, then it's a keeper. It's very user-friendly with loads of options in terms of sizing and design ideas.

A lot of the templates are free for use, as well. You have an additional graphics section to choose from, while some of those will cost you. Overall, the costs are quite low and I never found this aspect burdensome.

If you have your own images you'd like to use, that's an option, as well.

I think Canva is best for those with little-to-no design skills that need access to basic images without the frills.

As a Digital Marketer and someone who is running a company on her own (and working mainly with clients who are doing the same), Canva is incredible. I do pay for the Pro version of Canva and have for a few years now. Canva allows me to quickly design social media graphics, put together proposals, create workbooks and guides for my clients, and everything else that goes along with design needed to run a business. I honestly have not used many other alternatives, outside of professional design software, which can honestly take more time and require more work, especially if you are not a seasoned designer. Canva is also constantly updating their templates with new designs, offering new template structures, adding video and animation capabilities, and continuously making sure they're staying ahead of the curve in terms of what creators are looking for to be modern with their own design.

I just posted my monthly Newsletter and called Canva my BFF. I have recently starting using it more to create professional and aesthetically looking slide decks for a Community Learning class I'm teaching at Delaware College of Art and Design, and for my own personal work. I'm a surface pattern designer and was able to use some of my designs to create a calendar freebie for my newsletter subscribers, and fun Instagram Story graphics to share with my community. I've used the free and paid version, and would recommend it to anyone.

Reasons it's great:

- User Friendly and intuitive

- Graphic templates for free and paid versions are excellent quality

- You can pick it up and work on it and it saves automatically. Great for working in small chunks of time (like during the pandemic, or with toddlers running around)

- The free version offers plenty of options that anyone with existing photos or art can utilize

- I'd recommend paid version for businesses or people that want to take advantage of the palette and branding you can input, and also the photos and art to make your presentations look better.

- Everyone has high taste levels for graphic design these days (we know what looks good or not), and this offers and easy way for people who don't have a graphic design background to create something that looks great - EASILY.

My social media followers like to see a lot of verse images, typography, and more. I'm a developer by trade so graphic design isn't my strong suit. I chose to go with canva because of the sheer number of templates they have to choose from. I was not disappointed.

I'm 3 years into using canva and I haven't even scratched the surface of reusing templates. They have a vast amount of fantastic professional templates to choose from. I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone who is a soloprenuer or an entrepreneur trying to get started and can't afford a full time or part time graphics designer to look at canva.

The software is a breeze to use. Their builder lets you easily drag and drop your elements into their template and craft your style. They're also always coming up with new and creative elements in their designer that allow you to edit images. It's becoming more and more powerful and feature-rich each month and they release updates.

I also tried some of the alternatives like PicMonkey, Snapseed, Snappa, and others. And while all of them were fairly easy to use, they just didn't have the vasty quantity or quality as canva.

#open is currently a paying customer of Canva and has been for approximately 6 months. As the Social Media Manager, I use Canva most often, but several other members of the #open team use the platform as well.

Pros

Overall, I give Canva a thumbs up! The platform itself is fairly easy to use and the ability to access templates and drafts from multiple devices makes it an ideal platform for team projects. Many of our team members that don't have graphic design backgrounds or access to platforms such as Photoshop are able to use Canva to create attractive, on-brand graphics in the blink of any eye. As a small start-up, this greatly reduces our turn around time on time-sensitive social posts and distributes the responsibility of graphic creation across the team. Similarly, the post templates and access to a vast amount of stock images definitely alleviates some of the strain of graphic design - especially on those days when creativity is lacking.

Cons

Canva is still very limited in its capabilities and using premade templates/choosing from the same stock images results in the same and or similar graphics popping up amongst companies - which can ultimately lead to branding issues.

Conclusion

I ultimately still prefer Photoshop for it's capabilities and create orginal graphics as often as possible, but Canva is a nice addition to the team's toolbox! It's cheap and I personally think it provides the capabilities many are looking for, without requiring the skill set necessary to navigate Photoshop. For small businesses with limited resources, Canva is absolutely useful and beneficial, but not a one-stop-shop.

I love Canva because it lets you create graphics within minutes because there are tons of useful templates. Since I’ve been in social media marketing for a bit, I know how complicated it can get to reach a designer every time I need a graphic for a post. Instead of waiting around, I create it in Canva in 5 minutes. Sure, you may run the risk of creating something similar to others if you’re using templates, but as long as you get creative with the available elements, you can create unique graphics pretty easily. Overall, I wouldn’t say it’s a replacement for a designer but it really helps when you’re in a crunch with time.

Its user interface is incredibly intuitive and requires very little learning before initially starting out, and even with a free account, supplies a vast array of designs and layouts that are highly editable and interchangeable.

Having created content on both a PC and tablet, there is little difference and restriction between the two, making it very easy to publish posts when on the go and at home.

Rather than hire a graphic designer or spend dozens of hours learning how to use heavy standalone design suites, we use and love Canva. We use Canva for our infographics, our banners, and many of our main images. Here's a few of the reasons that Canva is our go-to design app for our website:

- A simple, quick to learn user interface

- It's a web application so it doesn't matter where we are or what device we're on, we can access Canva along with our saved designs. Perfect for our digital nomad lifestyle.

- There are tons of templates to choose from, but the best part is they are all customizable. So we can put our own unique branding touch on every design we do.

- There are thousands of design elements to make exactly what we want, everything from fonts, colors, graphs, to shapes, icons, images, etc.

- We can upload our own images or graphics and they are saved for future use on our profile.

- You can arrange, move, resize, and change each element in a design because it's based on layers.

- The app actually picks up the main color scheme of an image and suggests those colors as you work on the design.

We could go on, but as you can see, we use and very much like Canva for much of the graphics on our website.

For someone that has been in the blogging world for only about a year, I cannot even begin to describe how much Canva has helped me. In the beginning, I knew how important of a skill graphic design was in this industry. I wasn't sure where I was going with my ideas but I knew that I could open up a lot of doors for myself by learning simple graphic design / Adobe hacks. I signed up for a course, bought the Adobe Creative Cloud (definitely an investment), and began. Little did I know what I was getting into. It took much more time than I thought I needed or even had. I work a full time job, so everything I do is later at night.

Eventually disappointed, I stopped. I didn't have the time or energy to sit for a few extra hours after work just to learn the most basic tools. If I could hardly understand the basics, how was I going to master it? One day, I came across Canva. I started playing around with it and realized how easy it was to use. It provided all the tools I needed to do exactly what I was looking for. I was able to use their templates for inspiration as well as use my creative visions to make my own. I knew I had great ideas, I just needed to be able to create them. Canva gave me the opportunity to do that. Very quickly, I began using Canva on the daily. I use Canva to create Pinterest pins for all my blog posts, promotion pages, and Instagram stories, polls, and slideshows. I've used it to create e-cards, infographics, logos, and so much more.

Now, I pay for Canva Pro (not even close to how expensive Adobe was) because I realized how much I was using it, but for a very long time I was on the free version. Truthfully speaking, I could have easily stayed on the free app and gotten everything I needed. I can't recommend another app because I've never had to try looking for another. I cannot believe I went through the late nights and struggle of learning Photoshop when I could easily put my ideas out there using Canva. I've recommended Canva to all my friends and family and have never heard one bad thing about it. It's truly helped me bring out my visual creative side with very little effort. I'm so glad I came across this app.

I love Canva—I still use the free version—and haven’t felt limited in what I can do at all. I’m able to upload images instantly. I have the ability to edit photos and manipulate them to make the exact layout I want. I also love their text/font layouts. They have so many pre-made templates with fonts that all work really nicely together—so I don’t have to play around with it for hours, the thinking is done for me.

All in all I love Canva, I haven’t felt the need to purchase a plan yet. I’ve been able to create exactly what I’ve needed with the free version.

Canva is a great design tool and no doubt one of the most popular websites for simple graphical editing. I have used it extensively and find it quite useful for most basic tasks. It comes with a wide range of pre-made templates to get started with and has a wide range of free stock images and vectors.

You also have the option to choose premium stock images at low price and have options to choose transparent backgrounds. This is very helpful when you are using it to design logos. You also have the option to choose your own custom image size and get creative with the post.

The price is reasonable and even free options give you lots of value. However, there are some other great alternatives to Canva. Here are few of my favorites:

RelayThat: A great alternative to Canva. It comes with several features that are not available in Canva such as Headline generator, Brand management, free stock images and the best of all one click resize option to prepare banners and social media posts.

Stencil: Stencil is geared toward bloggers and social media marketers. It contains a large selection of templates and stock images. However, I find this to be limited in features compared to RelayThat and Canva.

Crello: It's another fantastic tool with lots of templates to get started. The stock image options are limited but you can also purchase additional stock images at lower cost.

In my experience, Canva is a great tool for quickly putting together nice looking graphics which can be used for a range of uses, from social media posts to infographics. I have used the free version for a number of years, but recently upgraded to the paid version. The reason was I wanted to create some ads for my online photography course, and the paid version of Canva came with two very useful features for this. First, it has an extensive image library, and second, the paid version has an incredible feature where it can remove the background of an image. So for example you can take an image of a person, remove the background, and then use that in a different shot. It's well worth it in my opinion.

Until recently, I only used Canva for my blog and crochet shop graphics. It is incredibly user friendly and consistent, which is great. It’s super easy to make templates, which I found particularly useful for making Pins.

I had the paid version for a while, primarily so I could try out the branding options, but didn’t find it to be especially worth it. The only feature the paid version had that I missed was the ability to upload a custom font.

Ultimately, because of the font limitations, plus the limited storage space on free accounts, I turned to Photoshop. I’ve been teaching myself Photoshop and trying to use that more for graphics because it is more robust overall. However, if it weren’t for the fonts and the storage issue, I probably would have continued to be very happy and content with just Canva.

I greatly recommend Canva. I use it for almost every part of the content creation process and find it super easy to use. I've been using it for more than 4 years and use it almost every day. As a content creator, I find Canva to be a super easy way to mass produce content. For my blog, I used it to create my logo and signature, as well as for featured photos for all my blog posts. I love how there are free stock images that are super easy to find. I also use it for Pinterest, as I can create templates and easily copy them for future use. When I create pins I'm developing 10+ at a time and just switching out images and text, so I love how I can just copy the format and switch the data out.

I think the best feature of Canva is its access to different elements including shapes, lines, graphics, templates, photos, etc. I'm trained in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, and while there is a bit more flexibility with those products, Canva has a database of tools you can add to your creations that is extremely useful.

Canva does not have a color picker tool (it picks some colors from images but you can't choose the direct color you'd like), so that's my main gripe about it, but I downloaded a Chrome extension to solve that issue. Overall, I recommend Canva because it's great for graphic designers of all levels, including those who've never created designs before. There are templates for almost any image imaginable, and I've used it for Instagram stories, Pinterest templates, blog headers, social media posts, and more. I also studied public relations/advertising at university and I used it for a variety of projects and internships.

PERMALINK: https://outwittrade.com/canva-reviews#yuki

Canva is an excellent tool for quick, need-it-yesterday design projects. However, it may not necessarily replace the need for a talented graphic designer. I primarily use Canva for social media. Canva has templates for nearly every social media channel, which can be amazingly helpful, because channels like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and more are often changing the sizes and specifications for images, gifts, videos, etc. Since I have Canva, I don't have to worry about going to websites looking for the latest image sizes because I can use the Canva templates instead (and these templates utilize the latest dimensions for each of the social media channels, in my experience.) I haven't had to resize as single Canva creation, which saves me a tremendous amount of time.

As far as using the Canva Pro or free version, if you don't demand much from Canva and can source your images or designs if needed, the free membership packs a fantastic amount of value. However, my needs weren't being met by the free version, as I operate many social media accounts, including a very active Pinterest account. With the Pro version, I have access to an entire stock photo library, receive premium designs, and have more options than I would otherwise.

I will say that I haven't let my graphic designer go. I don't rely on Canva to create strong lead generation campaigns. And I also ask my designer to create in-depth gifs, as well. If you need PDFs created (e-books), complex gifs animations, or other creative content for lead generation, you may want to hold on to your graphic designer.

So, for any organization maintaining its social media accounts, Canva is a highly cost-effective solution that provides virtually everything needed.

I am a heavy user of Canva and a HUGE fan! I have been a paying user for over a year now and here's why I love it:

- Templates for literally everything

- Ability to resize any file immediately

- Mobile app allows for easy uploading to Instagram Stories, Gallery

- Can upload images directly onto social platforms directly from desktop as well

- The daily tutorial emails - these are actually useful AND provide quick to apply tips and tricks

- Easy to collaborate with others - other template makers, my team, etc.

- Have taken social courses that give direct access to templates on Canva only available to course takers - brilliant!

- Requires literally no graphic design experience - can make design novices feel confident in creating designs that look like a million bucks

- Super intuitive and easy to understand with little to no learning curve

- Easy to create branded templates to give your business a consistent

- Affordable price. Even the free version gives you a ton of access

- LOVE the presentations - no messy powerpoints, etc. Ability to create beautiful presentations and webinars

I could go on and on, needless to say, as a business owner I love it.

I have a background in design and I found the investment in the paid version of Canva to be extremely worthwhile. The range of templates across all media types and needs is versatile and easy to edit. Without a background in design you can easily change anything to suit your needs.

My favorite thing about their template library is that I can use many of them as an inspiring jumping-off point for my own vision and pull in from other templates and concepts to make something of my own without spending a lot of time concepting from scratch.

The paid version also allows you to create folder organization systems for your uploads, develop color palettes and generally just provides a seamless way to stay on brand across a team.

We're huge fans here!

I really like Canva and I'm using it all the time!

I used the free version for about a year then upgraded. One reason I decided to upgrade is I wanted to be able to upload my own fonts and store the color information palette. I now use all of those features and frequently consider the PRO level stock photos and illustrations.

I started using Canva because I don't know how to use Adobe Illustrator but often need vector design and graphic layouts. My Photoshop skills are pretty specific and limited. I frequently upload my photos to Canva and use them as the base to my designs. I have recently started to use their tool that takes the background out of photos and am learning to understand the limitations of that tool.

I use Canva to create graphics I use in e-commerce, store newsletters, and printed materials such as business cards and posters.

Is it worth it? I think so. The increased functionality of the paid plan saves me design time. I've noticed that there are some free Canva graphics that get used a lot, and when you're in a specific industry like we are (cat products) you want to stand out, and reusing the same free cat images that are on Canva doesn't help me to create graphics with a unique look, so I usually start by searching the PRO option art. Mostly I've been able to use this easy to use design tool without having to drop everything else I'm doing to learn Adobe Illustrator.

I have actually used Canva as well as PicMonkey, which is an alternative to Canva.

For me, Canava is well worth the price. I originally did things the old-fashioned way through Photoshop, which took a lot of time. Once I started using Canva, it cut my workload by a good 80% since everything was all in one spot. It is so easy to use and the templates that they offer are great for beginners. While many will never need to upgrade to the paid version, I find that having all the extra paid items at my fingertips worth it. It opens up so many more fonts, pictures, layouts, etc..

I tried the alternative PicMonkey and found it lacking in features and not worth the value, so I have chosen to stay with Canva.

I've used Canva on and off for several years to create graphics for my blog. It's a great tool, especially when you consider that most of the features are free! When I first started creating my online business, I was hesitant to try to create my own graphics because I'm not a graphic designer. But Canva makes it easy for even the most aesthetically-challenged among us to create images that look great. I particularly love the pre-chosen font pairing options that they have available, as well as the hundreds of color palettes that they have to choose from when you're deciding on brand colors.

Canva Pro has some great features like being able to easily resize an image. It also gives you the ability to create images with a transparent background, which is awesome for logos. I tried Canva pro for a little while, but ultimately decided that I don't need it for my business right now. I've been able to work around the limitations of the free version and still do fairly well.

Another tool that I use often is called RelayThat. It doesn't offer as much design flexibility as Canva, but it's strength is in being able to create a ton of different images quickly. When you create one image, it automatically pre-fills all of the other templates in your workspace with that image and text. You can easily go through and select the designs that you like from the images that it's automatically created for you based on the original information. I usually like to tweak each image a bit, but I can still whip out 4-6 Pinterest images in half an hour using RelayThat.

I've been using Canva for years and I've seen it grow into the versatile platform that we have now. I use it mostly to create compelling Pinterest pins and e-mail newsletter graphics. Pinterest is a big traffic driver for my blog and creating beautifully designed pins has helped me reach 1.1 million monthly views for my Pinterest profile.

Canva is very user-friendly, much quicker to learn than any of the Adobe softwares. The pre-made templates are very well designed with a variety of aesthetics, and they can be dramatically altered to make never before seen designs.

I do pay for Pro version of Canva and for my own business it's well worth the small monthly fee.

I've paid for Canva and I'm a huge fan. No one else has such easy software that has so many capabilities. The fonts are beautiful. They have excellent photos and fun illustrations and graphics. You can actually get really far in the process without having to pay anything. I also used Canva to print a bunch of brochures after I designed them, and they came to me really quickly and looked great.

Vistaprint can also do a lot of what Canva does, and I enjoyed their service the one time I used it. They helped me design and print business cards that turned out really nicely. They could be a potential alternative to Canva for some cases.

Photoshop is a decent alternative to Canva, but it's definitely more expensive. I also pay for that. Although both programs are excellent for graphic design, I find that they very different purposes. Photoshop is for huge masterpieces where you are highly skilled in graphic design and you have a super specific image in your mind you hope to make. Canva is a little easier and quicker - lots more drag and drop. Don't have a good design in mind? Lacking creativity? Canva's inspirational templates help a ton.

Unless you're a full time artist and a photoshop pro, I would definitely recommend Canva.

Canva is one of my team's favorite graphic design tools because it's easy to use and is perfect for a small marketing team like ours. It offers templates from Instagram post to a full book cover, which makes it ideal for those who are not professional graphic artists. Rebranding these templates to fit our own brand is also easy because of the tool's drag-and-drop features. It also offers color suggestions based on the existing image that you upload so there's no second guessing on what hue will complement your final design. But take note that since your work is saved on the cloud, having an unstable network may mean that you won't be able to save your work in such case. Overall, I give this tool A+!

I've used Canva for about 6 months and have paid for it for 3 months. I've also used photoshop and free similar photo manipulation tools such as Photopea.

Canva is extremely easy to use for basic photo manipulation and my program of choice. The downsides are that it can be difficult to work with layers, and the text effects are limited. However, it is one of the most intuitive and simple tools, and is much quicker for simple editing compared to more advanced programs such as photoshop. The premium membership has been worth the cost. It allows me to access a large number of high-quality premium stock photography that would be more expensive if I were to purchase from stock sites. The premium resize feature has also been a great time saver that I've used a few times when trying to quickly resize images for multiple platforms.

--Michelle Bagnato, Bliss from Balance

PERMALINK: https://outwittrade.com/canva-reviews#michelleb

I have tried Canva and I currently pay for it. I don't think the average user needs to pay for it because the free version offers so much. But I do believe Canva is worth the cost for three reasons:

- In its latest update, Canva included all of its stock photos with a paid version. Now you get a graphic design program and stock photo agency (Shutterstock) in one.

- You gain access to the background erase tool with the paid version. It only takes two clicks of a mouse to do what would take a lot more work to do in more expensive graphic design programs (photoshop). You don't need to be an expert graphic designer to use Canva's tools.

- The new animated features let you use templates or create videos or gifs for Pinterest, Facebook, and Instagram. Each one is already all at the perfect size, so you don't have to guess what looks best. You can even resize them, so you don't have to redesign for each platform.

I am a content creator, so the paid version of Canva makes sense for me. I create Pinterest pin templates and designs for my clients quickly and easily. I make dozens of pins for myself and it doesn't take me much time. Once I create a template I love I can save it and drag and drop new pictures or animate it. The platform saves your company colors. logo, and fonts, so I can change any of their templates to fit my brand in minutes. Everything is about saving time as a small business owner and since this is cheaper than what I used to use it saves time and money. Even with the free version, I was able to create dozens of designs. After a while, I decided to pay for it because having access to pictures in one place was too much of a deal to pass up.

I feel like I sound like a Canva spokesperson and I promise I'm not, but I guess I'm a fan. If you want to see some of my designs check out any page of my blog and even some of the graphics on my website. Hope this helped.

My experience with Canva has been fantastic. Coming from the photographic industry I have always used Adobe software such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign to create with so at first I was apprehensive to use Canva. I do however believe it is a great alternative to the Adobe programs I am familiar with, especially for individuals who are not overly experienced with design.

Not only has it allowed me to create better marketing material for my website I have also noticed it has really sped up my workflow. I have used Canva to create engaging pins for Pinterest, interesting email marketing materials and also graphics for products that I sell on my website. I am currently in the process of creating a few eBooks using Canva and have been really impressed with how easy it is to use. For anyone looking to up their design skills I can’t recommend Canva enough.

I have used Canva for a few years now and I really like it. It's perfect for people who are either novices to graphic design (like me!) or who haven't got hours to spend on creating amazing designs. It's really easy to use and doesn't baffle you with numerous different tool icons like other graphics software. There are also templates available to help with inspiration so that you don't have to start with a blank canvas.

There are some limitations to Canva - it's not very easy to resize graphics once you've picked your initial dimensions and it can sometimes be difficult to select the layer that you want to edit, unlike Photoshop or Gimp. However, it is especially useful for creating Pins for Pinterest and is ultimately a great time saver.

I started blogging two months ago and came to know that Pinterest can drive huge traffic to your website. Initially, I tried using GIMP but then came to know about Canva and since then have never tried anything else. Canva is one of the best graphic design tool that has a lot to offer in its free version itself. The vast library of templates helps in making pins easily and in minutes. You can also make several versions of the same design by making minor changes using its drag and drop feature.

You can create animated designs using different shapes, stickers, boundary patterns, and layouts. I highly recommend Canva for graphic design if you don't have much knowledge of designing. The free version itself offers a lot of different features so if you want to just create basic images then you can use the free version.

Another effective and easily available tool is Snappa that has the ability to import your own custom fonts and the ability to share your designs directly to social media without leaving Snappa.

I tried Canva Pro for a month for work and it was definitely worth it for my shorter project. This platform does work well most of the time, as they have a wide variety of formatting options for all kinds of distribution on social media. You can create an Instagram story slide, a resume, presentation, flyer, really anything you can think of. However, with the normal free version there is a paywall you experience if you want to use some of the Pro graphics or designs. So, I would recommend keeping the free version if you don’t have any major projects. You could also ask your company if they would want to pay for the account, because it could be beneficial to have the more advanced designs depending on your work. I haven’t really found a better option or alternative for Canva; the website and app are both very easy to use and simple in their setup. Neither took me long to navigate, so for convenience or for a quick design I would definitely advise you to use this platform.

I’d been using Photopea for a while to build featured images for my blog and Pins for posting on Pinterest. For a free tool Photopea is pretty incredible, but it has drawbacks. It can be very slow if you're working on complicated images with lots of layers and I've lost work several times when I've had to refresh my browser because it froze. Having heard about Canva from the Pinterest community I decided I'd give it a try, initially just for Pinterest Pins. I was really impressed at how sophisticated Canva was and how quickly you can create templates, which you can reuse and modify simply. Canva has reduced the time it takes for me to create images for Pinterest by some margin. I used to spend around an hour a day creating Pins, but with Canva I can create 10 Pins in around 15 minutes. Moreover, the choice of fonts and templates means I end up with a much more slick set of Pins than I ever got from Photopea using my own designs. I'm not a trained graphic designer and this is where Canva pays out in spades for me. All the templates, guides and functions deliver an image that feels totally professional and there’s a marked improvement in Pinterest engagement as a result: an overall increase of +200% since I started using Canva.

Canva is a great tool that provides immense features that can satiate your infographic needs. As someone who runs a website and sees content as King, having useful infographics in my arsenal is a must. Canva helps in this alley. The collection of designs, templates, and fonts make it easier to focus on crafting a substantial infographic rather than spending time about aesthetics.

Infographics are something I value when it comes to building links, so I devote a significant amount of time in crafting the content. With Canva, I do not need a more excessive amount of time in laying the material into a graphical version since Canva is easy to use with its drag-and-drop feature, for instance.

In my organization, we use the premium version of Canva, and I would personally recommend it. What I like about the premium version is the ability to upload custom fonts and resize materials. The Canva Magic Resize is beyond beneficial since it enables you to repurpose your contents to suit different graphic requirements better (in various social platforms, for example). This makes content syndication a breeze.

I've been a Pro user for about the last four years I believe. I can say that it has transformed the way we are able to manage client graphics for social media and for content marketing. Key features that make our lives so much easier are the magic resize option that allows us to easily recreate a twitter post into an IG post with two clicks, the brand color palettes which help us keep consistent palettes at the ready, and most recently the animate feature for adding easy video elements without the cost of a video editor. I also love the wide range of stock images they have available and rarely have to pay for a premium image with a pro account (or Canva for Work I believe it's called).

We also love that we are able to share previews with our clients, as well as between team members. We frequently work with professional graphic designers within the platform to translate their custom branding into templates. Having a solid library of client templates helps us keep our branding consistent, which our Brand Strategist loves.

There are a few improvements I'd like to see such as I don't LOVE their mobile app and I wish you could have multiple brand fonts in your brand kit, but the positives far outweigh the negatives in my mind. And BONUS: I really love the little ducky that floats by on the upload icon during a long upload.

As a self-taught graphic designer who manages all the artwork creation for a promotional products company, Canva has been a lifesaver. It is easy to use with great, customizable templates. And since I also manage Choice Premiums' marketing, I particularly love it for quickly creating eye-catching social media posts. I even use Canva when clients do not know what sort of design they want for their t-shirt, brochure, etc., to quickly build potential design options without having to use a more advanced, labor intensive program like Illustrator. I honestly would recommend this app to anyone in my field, but especially those who do not have a team to rely on for help.

Overall, Canva is an easy to use and efficient tool for both inexperienced & experienced users. I have mainly used Canva for its social media graphics feature which has been incredibly useful and it has really helped when it comes down to the consistency and flow on my platforms. As a small business this really has been perfect for me. I have always struggled with programs like photoshop as I am sure many others have and honestly, Canva is a really is a good alternative. I haven't really come across any bugs during my time using Canva and overall, I have found it very easy to use (I am not the most tech-savvy either!) I have used both the paid and unpaid versions of Canva and whilst I feel the features on the paid version may not be useful for everyone, I certainly enjoyed the unlimited storage and wider range of images available to me. I would recommend looking into one of the paid versions (of which there are a couple of options) if you are using Canva for a larger business with a higher graphics budget.
